A Guide To Help Choose The Right Paint Brush

Finding the right paint brush with such a wide range available in the market can be overwhelming. But don’t worry, we have briefed the different types of paintbrushes and how you can choose the right one.

How To choose the right paintbrush

By considering all the factors we have mentioned below, you can help determine which type of paintbrush is the right one for you.

Determine The Bristle Type

There is a wide range of paint brushes available with synthetic or natural bristles on Mtech Cave, as well as a large range of citadel paints which provide a smooth and precise finish. Do click on the link given here to check out the range.

Now moving back to determining the bristle type, you must choose a synthetic brush if you intend to use paint that can be cleaned with water. However, for oil-based paints, natural bristled brushes may be a better choice. You can also use synthetic brushes for oil-based paints, but natural bristles are a better choice. Just like it is better to use synthetic brushes when you intend to apply water-based paints as natural bristles soak the moisture and become too smooth.

Synthetic brushes can be bought in nylon/polyester, nylon or chinex blends. But as per our recommendation, you should invest in nylon/polyester blends. Warhammer synthetic brushes are made for optimal performance and easy clean-up. They provide a smooth finish with ease. In the past, synthetic brushes were smooth and featureless. They lacked the texture and split ends that are often called ‘flags’ that help lead natural bristled brushes to hold onto pain and apply smoothly on canvas. But not anymore. Today’s synthetic brushes are made with advanced technological techniques that help in reproducing each bristle's characteristic.

You can now choose from a wide variety of synthetic brushes at Mtech Cave. Our synthetic brush varieties include those shaped like animal hair types.

Select The Right Size

You should also determine the size of the pain brush you would need. If you’re painting any woodwork, then choosing a small brush is fine as it provides a precise finish. However, if you intend on painting large flat surfaces, then you must invest in larger-size brushes as it becomes really frustrating to paint larger spaces with smaller brushes.

Determine The Usage

You must also determine the usage. That is, how much time and effort would you like to spend on cleaning the brushes? As some brushes are easier to clean, whereas some are harder. If you’re someone who does not like to spend much time cleaning the brushes, then synthetic brushes are the ones for you. As Synthetic bristled brushes do not need to be conditioned. As they are less delicate than natural hair bristle brushes, it is easier to clean them. They are also more durable than natural hair brushes, especially when painting with acrylics and if any paint dries on a natural brush, it becomes really difficult to remove it.

In short, synthetic brushes are more durable than natural ones. They don’t get damaged easily, which can be an excellent feature if you’re someone who doesn't like to spend more of their time cleaning the brushes rather than painting.

Consider The Right shape

Now, after selecting the type of bristles and the size, you must determine the right shape of the brush that you need. You may consider that some brushes are cut at an angle and come have square endings.  Therefore you must determine which shape of the brush is the right one for you. The shape of the pain matters a lot in determining the ease of painting.

We hope this comprehensive guide will help you determine which types of brushes are the right ones for you.
